# Source for a need

> Source candidates to fill a specific client need.

A **Source for a need** project lets you **source candidates** to fill a **specific client need**.

When creating it, you attach the **need** to fill (title, skills, criteria). Cobalt uses it to surface the most relevant profiles via the [People Search Engine](/en/fonctionnalites/people-search/people-search).

The **Kanban** view (columns by status) is the default: move each candidate forward through your sourcing pipeline.
